Despite the rain, 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2014, was a time for celebration. Since 1993, under the tutelage of Jim Shield, the SCFOL Monthly first Saturday Used Book Sales had cumulatively sold over 1M books and raised $400, 000. In the Winer Family Community Room & Art Gallery of the San Carlos Branch Library, on November 19, 2014, at the SCFOL General Membership Annual Meeting, there was the unveiling of a special section of wall, honoring all SCFOL Life Members and Past Presidents. Present were SCFOL members, honored Life Members Rocky, Gene & Michael Winer (sons of Jack & Carolyn Winer), Past President Judy McCarty, SCFOL President Judy Williams, and Riley Webb representing Councilman Scott Sherman.

On November 19, 2014, before the Annual Meeting of the General Membership of SCFOL, Rocky, Gene, and Michael Winer, sons of Jack & Carolyn Winer, unveiled new signage over the two entrances to the San Carlos Branch Library's community room, dedicating and renaming it the "WINER FAMILY Community Room & Art Gallery." What a party! The “40 & Fabulous, FREE Family Fun Fair, “sponsored by SCFOL, brought over 300 of the young and young at heart to the San Carlos Branch Library on August 23 to help celebrate its 40 years of service to the community. Activities included an author’s fair, storytelling, hat making, Mad Science and Dr. Who craft corners, carnival games, Sparkles the Clown face painting, and of course-cotton candy and birthday cake!
