The Library is offering a new Digital Library Card. If you don't currently have a Library Card, you can now sign up for a Digital Library Card to access eLibrary resources. With a Digital Library Card you can download digital materials (such as ebooks, eaudiobooks and digital magazines), use electronic databases, take online classes, and much more. Customers may convert their digital library card into a permanent physical library card by contacting any of the Pickup Service Locations.

Overdue Materials Policy: Beginning July 1, 2018, the San Diego Public Library is no longer charging users a daily overdue fee for items returned late. Under this new policy, items can be checked out for their standard loan period and, if eligible, renewed up to five times. Library cardholders are responsible for returning or renewing items to prevent their library card from being blocked or barred.
