The library book club meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Winer Family Community Room & Art Gallery. The current titles are on reserve at the front desk. Just ask the librarian for a copy and check it out. For more information, please call the library at 619-527-3430.

November 12: SCFOL General Membership Meeting
This year’s annual SCFOL General Membership meeting will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 3:00-4:30 pm, in the San Carlos Branch Library’s Winer Family Community Room & Art Gallery. All SCFOL members are invited to attend.
The agenda will include board business and reports, including the approval of the officers for 2026 (See below). We will also recognize new Life Members for 2025.

Summer Reading Round-Up
San Carlos Branch Library had 1110 patrons register for the annual Summer Reading Program, 898 of whom met the goal of reading 10 books, reading 10 hours, or completing 10 activities to earn prizes such as museum passes and free books! (159 adults, and 739 kids) We also had 7 successful summer programs including music, art, stories, and science at the San Carlos Branch to celebrate the summer reading program. In-N-Out Fall Reading Program: 10/4 – 11/15
We’ll be launching the In-N-Out Fall Reading Program at all branches starting October 4. This is an annual program that is open to children ages 4 to 12. Kids who read either five books or five hours will earn a library certificate for a free hamburger or cheeseburger at In-N-Out. Effective SEPTEMBER 15: New SDPL Hours
Library System Update:
Starting September 15, 2025, San Carlos Branch Library will be CLOSED on Mondays. The weekly schedule will be as follows:
Tuesday: 11:30 AM - 8 PM
Wednesday-Saturday: 9:30 AM - 6 PM
Closed Sundays and Mondays.
There are 17 branches which will remain open on Mondays. Please see the flyer below for details.
