SD Libraries Will Lose Funding in FY 2025-2026 San Diego Budget

Negotiations are still underway before the City of San Diego's final 2025-26 fiscal year budget is voted on June 10.  It will not be finalized until signed by San Diego's Mayor Todd Gloria on June 15, 2025 As a result of previous City Council budget meetings,  the San Diego Public Library system is scheduled to lose $8million in funding.  As of July 1, 2025, this loss of funding may result in the closing of all 37 Branch Libraries on Sunday... Odi’s Library Day – SDPL’s Official Children’s Board Book

April, 2022: New SCBL update from Raul Campillo

Our  7th District City Councilmember Raul Campillo has been closely following the completion of the mitigation of the Jackson and Golfcrest corner lot, and  working to keep the City on track toward the lot's purchase which will then allow for the building of a new San Carlos Branch Library on that site.  In Campillo's April Newsletter, he updated his San Carlos constituents on the status of the project, and has graciously approved the article to be reproduced in its entirety... APRIL Activities @ San Carlos Branch Library

  LIBRARY HOURS: Monday & Tuesdays: 11:30 am - 8:00 pm;   Wednesday thru Saturday: 9:30 am - 6:00 pm. The library is now open at 100% occupancy, and water fountains are open. In-Person programs available from the San Carlos Branch include: KIDS Crafts: 2nd & 4th Mondays 3:30-4:30: Ages 3-11.  We supply the materials; a different craft each week; stop by anytime.
