MAY 5: City-wide Essay Contest Award Ceremony
The four Grand Prize Winners at each grade level of the City-wide, 19th Annual Student "Writing For Literacy Library Essay Contest," will be announced during a ceremony on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the Balboa Park Club. Each student will receive a monetary award plus a laptop computer courtesy of Computer 2 SD Kids. AWARDS: On Wednesday, March 16 at 6p.m., the community was invited to fill the San Carlos Branch Library, hear the essays and congratulate this year’s local San Carlos winners of the 19th Annual Writing for Literacy Library Essay Contest. As I reflect back over 2015, I am both amazed and proud of the work which the Friends of the San Carlos Branch Library has accomplished.
This year, through monies raised from our monthly Used Book Sales, membership dues and donations, the San Carlos Friends of the Library were able to donate $23,000 to the Library Foundation.
