David Ege has been chosen to be our new Public Service Manager, AKA: Branch Manager. His first day at the San Carlos Branch Library was January 4, 2016. Longer LIBRARY Hours in 2016

Starting Saturday, January 9, the Saturday hours for the San Carlos Branch Library will be 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.  All other days remain the same.  "Beginning Monday, January 4, 2016 San Diego Public Library will have additional open hours. NOVEMBER 5: Farewell to Managing Librarian, Rita Glick

On November 5, from 11:00 to 2:30, we invite the San Carlos Branch Library patrons to stop by the library and bid Rita a fond farewell, while enjoying a piece of cake in her honor.  Our beloved Managing Librarian, Rita Glick, will be retiring on November 6, 2015.  She and her husband Bill are relocating to the mid-west to be closer to family, especially their grandchildren. SUMMER READING PROGRAM Wrap-up

The Summer Reading Program ended on August 15.  A total of 416 patrons finished and recorded their summer reading goals out of the 708, in all age groups, who signed up. Despite the inconvenience of on-going construction, 499 attended the Wednesday SRP special programs and 150 youth joined Ms. Megan in our new Process Art program which will continue during the Fall.   The end of construction is in sight.   We want to thank all for your patience as we worked to make our library more accessible!  We did have a successful JUNE 27 Used Book Sale.  Thanks to all of the hard sorting and selling work by our wonderful group of volunteers, and to our loyal book donating & buying patrons.  Our next book sale is scheduled for August 1.
