Negotiations are still underway before the City of San Diego final 2025-26 fiscal year budget is voted on in May. As a result of the April City Council meetings, the San Diego Public Library system is scheduled to lose $8million in funding. As of July 1, 2025, this loss of funding will result in the closing of all 37 Branch Libraries on Sunday and Monday, which will allow programs and services to remain the same Tuesday-Saturday.

He asked that it be shared with the Community so that we could take action to show its support for a new San Carlos Branch Library. Saturday, April 15, 10 am - 1 pm, the robots are retuning to the San Carlos Branch Library. Teams from local schools and the San Carlos neighborhood will display and explain their robotic creations in the library's lower parking lot at the corner of Jackson & Golfcrest. The SCFOL Board would like to thank our San Carlos Branch Library's outstanding staff, led by Managing Librarian David Ege, for keeping the Community engaged in all that our libraries have to offer during the last 3 years of COVID. Although life may never return to pre-COVID ways, we have all learned how to move forward invoking new and better methods.
