We thank the San Carlos Area Council for its $500 contribution to the San Carlos Branch Library. Managing Librarian Rita Glick accepted the check from SCAC representatives (from left), Jay Coulter, John Pilch, (Rita Glick) and Mickey Zeichek. CONGRATULATIONS to Green Elementary School’s fourth grader Logan McKerring, (his teacher is Louise Volpe). Logan was named one of four, fourth grade, Grand Prize winners in this year’s City-wide, 18th annual Writing for Literacy, Library Essay Contest, started by our own Jack Winer. “The Book Thief,” was the book he would save if all others were to be destroyed. The San Carlos Branch Library has REOPENED at its regularly scheduled hours of operations. Please note that there will be NO USED BOOK SALE. Parking is extremely limited. Only the right hand side of the upper lot is open for parking.

The local San Carlos winners of the 18th Annual Student Writing for Literacy Library Essay Contest were announced at an award ceremony held at the San Carlos Branch Library on Wednesday, April 8, at 6:00 pm.. The San Carlos Branch Library will be CLOSED from March 9 through April 2. We are planning to REOPEN on Friday, April 3. Many of you may have noticed recent changes in the vestibule of the library by the rest rooms. Even more changes are coming to make our library more accessible to our disabled community members.
