Library Book Club
The library book club meets monthly on the 3rd Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Winer Family Community Room & Art Gallery. The current titles are on reserve at the front desk. Just ask the librarian for a copy and check it out. For more information, please call the library at 619-527-3430.

Four of SCFOL's dedicated volunteers, Christine Khouri, Jaxon Cox, and Debbie & Dan Pittman, were honored at the Friends of the San Diego Public Library's annual membership meeting held on June 14, 2025. Their time, energy, and enthusiasm help make our monthly book sales a success. We're so grateful for all they do! 
Negotiations are still underway before the City of San Diego's final 2025-26 fiscal year budget is voted on June 10. It will not be finalized until signed by San Diego's Mayor Todd Gloria on June 15, 2025
As a result of previous City Council budget meetings, the San Diego Public Library system is scheduled to lose $8million in funding. As of July 1, 2025, this loss of funding may result in the closing of all 37 Branch Libraries on Sunday... 
When the weather gets too hot, remember that the San Carlos Branch Library is air conditioned and a designated COOL zone. It's a great time to go browsing among the books and lower your body temperature for an hour or two or join in one of our programs.
