Kids 2018 “ONE BOOK” Selection

 The companion 2018, "One Book" chosen for kids is "Blue Sky, White Stars."  It is a picture book written by Sarvinder Naberhaus and illustrated by New York Times bestselling and Caldecott-honor winning artist Kadir Nelson. Farewell to Overdue Fines

Overdue Materials Policy: Beginning July 1, 2018, the San Diego Public Library is no longer charging users a daily overdue fee for items returned late. Under this new policy, items can be checked out for their standard loan period and, if eligible, renewed up to five times. Library cardholders are responsible for returning or renewing items to prevent their library card from being blocked or barred. Carleen Hemric retires

We thank the many friends of Carleen Hemric for their contributions to SCFOL in her honor. We wish Carleen a peaceful retirement and thank her for the many years she taught our children, and her thousands of hours of volunteer work for the Friends including the Essay Contest, Board positions, and support of local authors.  Carleen will be greatly missed and a hard act to follow!
