Over the course of the summer, 1104 ballots were cast. The SCBL winner of the Battle of the Genres was … Adventure. It was a close top-two showdown between Adventure and Graphic Novels, but Adventure edged out Graphic Novels by a hair.

Stantec has completed its remediation of the corner lot located at Jackson & Golfcrest. From August 15, through September 9th, you may notice that Stantec will be fencing off portions or all of the lot to allow for the complete removal of any remaining equipment, followed by the lot's resurfacing. One Book, One San Diego has announced the selections for the 2022 region-wide read: “The Vanishing Half” by Brit Bennett has been chosen for adult readers; “The Magic Fish” written and illustrated by Trung Le Nguyen for teens and tweens; and “We Are Water Protectors” by Carole Lindstrom and illustrated by Michaela Goade for children. Registration for the 2022 Summer Reading Program ends August 31. You must have registered and completed your reading log/activity sheet in order to be eligible for prizes. Prizes will be given out until mid-September or as long as the supply lasts .
