SD Libraries Will Lose Funding in 2026

Negotiations are still underway before the City of San Diego's final 2025-26 fiscal year budget is voted on June 10.  As a result of previous City Council budget meetings,  the San Diego Public Library system is scheduled to lose $8million in funding.  As of July 1, 2025, this loss of funding may result in the closing of all 37 Branch Libraries on Sunday and Monday, but will allow  programs and services to remain the same Tuesday-Saturday. Mayor’s Proposed 2024 Budget does NOT Include the San Carlos Branch Library

Robotics Showcase Extravaganza, 2023

 Saturday, April 15, 10 am - 1 pm, the robots are retuning to the San Carlos Branch Library.  Teams from local schools and the San Carlos neighborhood will display and explain their robotic creations in the library's lower parking lot at the corner of Jackson & Golfcrest.  From 11 am - 1 pm, there will be an interactive youth robot craft available in the Library' Community Room.
