Children ages 0-5 can now receive their very own library card featuring “Odi the Coyote,” San Diego Public Library’s new mascot! Sign your child up for their first library card and take the first step in supporting their early literacy development and lifelong love of reading. Please bring a picture ID and address verification. More INFORMATION.

Thursdays, from 10:00 - 10:30 am, the San Carlos Branch Library is the place to be for those 5 and under. Take a break and join us for a fun interactive Storytime featuring books, songs, rhymes, and movement activities that help to foster early literacy. Storytime 
We welcome all SCFOL members to consider volunteering and assisting us in making our monthly USED BOOK SALES bigger and better than ever. Revenue from SCFOL book sales is the major source of funds needed to purchase books, programs and equipment for our branch library. In 2023, SCFOL Volunteers donated 4760 hours to the San Carlos Branch Library! We thank them one and all.

The Student EXCEL Card program is a collaborative effort between San Diego Public Library and San Diego Unified School District with the goal to get a library card in the hands of every student in the district by 2025.
At the start of the 2023-2024 all TK- 12th grade students enrolled in a non-charter San Diego Unified School District school will be registered for a Student EXCEL Library Card account.
