Negotiations are still underway before the City of San Diego's final 2025-26 fiscal year budget is voted on June 10. It will not be finalized until signed by San Diego's Mayor Todd Gloria on June 15, 2025

For me, this year, as President of the Friends of the San Carlos Branch Library, has been one of Challenges and Changes!
The year began with the 50th Birthday Celebration of the San Carlos Branch. The gathering of dignitaries, longtime patrons, friends and members emphasized that our branch is a keystone structure in the San Carlos Community. Our well received youth face painting and craft tables were a huge hit, and patrons enjoyed our historical displays.

WHEN: During the week to sort donated books and/or on the first Saturday of every month, for 2-3 hours from 9:00 am, until all of the non-purchased items are boxed up and put away. Many hands will make the job go faster.

Annually, the San Carlos Friends of the Library donates to the San Carlos Branch Library. Most of these funds, and those donated by other Friends chapters, are sent to the Library Foundation and annually matched by the City of San Diego, up to the City's budgeted amount.. This is called the City of San Diego Library Matching Fund.
