Banned Books Week Scavenger Hunt! 10/4-10/10
Did you know that people sometimes ask libraries to remove books they don’t agree with? That is called a challenge. When a book is removed from a library, it becomes banned.
Libraries work hard to protect your freedom to read so you and your family can choose your own stories!
Now it’s your turn to explore the library!
Hidden around the library are pictures of famous and award-winning children’s books that have been frequently challenged. See how many you can find, write down their titles, and learn about some of the stories that libraries have helped protect.
How to participate:
Pick up a scavenger hunt form in the children’s area, submit the completed form to the front desk for a prize, then celebrate the freedom to read!
