January 6-February 2, we will feature artwork by Michiyo Matsuura in the Winer Family Community Room & Art Gallery of the San Carlos Branch Library. Join us in welcoming Michiyo at her Artist Reception on 1/17, noon – 2:00 p.m.
Michiyo Matsuura is a native of Japan and deeply influenced by its art and culture. Her artwork depicts the humbleness of everyday life and the serenity of her natural surroundings. Through collage and mixed media, she experiments with materials like thread, paper, dye, and ink for unpredictable and surprising results. By witnessing her art, she hopes viewers can feel a greater admiration for the Japanese aesthetic and its simplistic beauty.
