San Carlos Branch Library is proud to offer a variety of engaging children’s programs designed to inspire a love of reading, learning, and creativity. Whether your child enjoys stories, strategy, or hands-on innovation, there’s something for everyone — and we’re excited to introduce a brand-new program this season: LEGO Builder Club!
Preschool Storytime
Our Storytime program is a favorite for young readers and their caregivers. Through stories, songs, and simple activities, children build early literacy skills while having fun in a welcoming, interactive environment.
Dates: Thursdays
Time: 10:30 – 11:00 am
Ages: Toddler/Preschool
Youth Chess
Youth Chess offers children the chance to learn and practice the game of chess in a supportive setting. Players of all experience levels are welcome, from beginners learning the basics to seasoned players looking to sharpen their strategy.
Dates: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays
Time: 5-7 p.m
Ages: 18 and under
Junior Innovators
Join us for fun and engaging STEM presentations and projects. Elementary and middle school students will work on a variety of science and math activities. This program is hosted by the Patrick Henry High School Junior Innovators Club.
Dates: Third Tuesday, Monthly
Time: 4:00 – 5:00pm

NEW! LEGO Builder Club
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our LEGO Builder Club, a new program where kids can let their imaginations run wild. Participants will design, build, and collaborate using LEGO bricks in a fun, relaxed environment. No experience required — just creativity and enthusiasm! Each creation will be put on display in the library for 2 weeks.
Dates: Saturdays (2nd & 4th Monthly) starting January 10 & 24
Time: 10:30-11:30 am
Ages: 6 and Up
All programs are held at the Library and are a great way for children to learn, socialize, and have fun. We encourage families to join us regularly and try something new — especially our newest addition, LEGO Builder Club!
