October is national JOIN the FRIENDS of the LIBRARY month. Join SCFOL after October 1st and your membership is good until December 31, 2025. SCFOL ANNUAL Memberships are a real bargain: $5 for Seniors or Youth; $10 for one adult; $20 for a Family (dual adult). Sponsor ($50), Contributor ($100) and Patron ($1000) membership levels are always appreciated.
INDIVIDUAL LIFE Memberships are only $250. Send your check before October 30 to have you name added in November to our Honor Wall. Since SCFOL’s founding in 1982, 148 individuals have become SCFOL Life-Members. Their names are displayed on the SCFOL Honor Wall found in the Winer Family Community Room & Art Gallery. Keep updated on San Carlos Branch and SCFOL events by including your email address with your membership application to receive our monthly Newsletters. We currently have over 500 individuals who receive our Newsletters.
Revenue from your memberships, donations and Friends’ Used Book Sale purchases, is a source of funds that allows the San Carlos Branch to purchase materials, programs, and equipment. Annually, Friends’ donations are matched by the City of San Diego up to a limit set by the City’s budget for the SDPL system, thus doubling the value of your financial support.
All Friends of the San Diego Public Library (FSDPL) are welcome to purchase books at our SCFOL Friday Pre-Monthly Used Book Sales. 
LIFE Members receive a 10% discount on items purchased at the Library Foundation’s Library Shop located in the downtown Central Library. Thank you one and all.
Membership in SCFOL is open to everyone, is a 100% volunteer organization and a chapter of Friends of the San Diego Public Library (FSDPL), a California tax Exempt Non-Profit Corporation under IRS 501(c)(3). Donated funds are tax deductible. See Membership-Donation-Form-1 for various membership levels. Numbers do count. They reinforce to the City Council our Community’s support for a new San Carlos Branch library, and the necessity of maintaining our current libraries.

Print and mail the membership form or drop it off at the SCBL. Membership envelopes are also available at the library. Please include your email address, mailing address and phone number so that we may send you your Membership Card and Donation acknowledgement letter.
