OCTOBER, 2022: New Branch Library Update
The fences are down, remediation is complete, and the lot on the corner of Golfcrest and Jackson has been resurfaced. The lot is now available for purchase by the City of San Diego as the site of the new San Carlos Branch Library. Thirty years ago, the Library Commission acknowledged that the present SCBL was inadequate for the Community’s needs, and on July 10, 1995, our City Councilmember Judy McCarty and SCFOL President Jack Winer, were instrumental in securing the City’s option to buy the “Arco lot” when remediation was complete.
