SCFOL Mission Statement

The Mission of the Friends of the San Diego Public Library is to enhance the San Diego Public Library System so that it may fulfill its literary, educational, technological, community, and cultural purposes.

The Vision of the Friends of the San Diego Public Library is a thriving and sustainable library system accessible to all.

The Values held by the Friends of the San Diego Public Library are:

Resourcefulness and Creativity for designing new approaches and solutions for issues facing our libraries.

San Carlos Branch Friends of the Library (SCFOL) is a Chapter of the Friends of the San Diego Public Library. The purpose of this 100% volunteer organization shall be to support the Central Regional Library, all the branch libraries and in particular the San Carlos Branch Library in their effort to provide the widest and best possible service to all the citizens of the City of San Diego. The Corporation is empowered to conduct fund raising events, such as book sales, to provide financial support to the library system. It is a 501 (c) (3) organization, thus all donations to SCFOL are tax deductible.
