SD Libraries & Parks Improvement Act Initiative
Each San Diego neighborhood deserves a quality library & park.
Spread the word! Final two weeks to qualify Libraries & Park for All for the 2024 ballot! We must submit signatures to the City Clerk’s office by December 14th for verification. We need your help to get us across the finish line!
Libraries and parks are essential to safe, strong, and thriving communities. For many neighborhoods, these assets have been long neglected with reports showing our parks need $200 million to meet basic safety standards and our libraries need $50 million in maintenance.
Sufficient Initiative Petition signatures for the Libraries & Parks Improvement Act must be collected in order for the initiative to be placed on the 2024 ballot. Watch for signature collectors at the SCFOL Book Sales and around the city of San Diego.
The Libraries & Parks Improvement Act of 2024 is a community-led citizen’s initiative to provide a guaranteed, local funding source through a modest parcel fee capped at one acre. The measure is projected to raise $45 million annually to fund maintenance, modernization, and construction (including the new San Carlos Branch) of facilities in addition to enhanced education and enrichment programs.
