Battle of the Genres
What is a genre? Visit the San Carlos branch library throughout the summer (June 1-August 31) and cast your vote for your favorite genre. YSL Ms. Erin, has chosen 16 subjects (genre) for your kids to choose from. Categories are adventure, animals, sports, mystery, scary, humor, fantasy, non-fiction, historical fiction, biography, realistic fiction, science fiction, classics, graphic novels, poetry, and fairy tales. Print up a Battle of the Genres Bracket sheet or pick one up at the library after June 1 Try to read a book from each genre during the summer. Round-1 vote ends July 9, when the Elite-8 will be chosen from the starting 16; before July 23, you can pick your Final-4; August 6 brings us to deciding the Top-2; and voting for the Grand Champion genre will close on August 17. Visit the library between August 18-31 to discover “The Best Genre Ever” chosen at the San Carlos Branch Library.
