July 20: REALM Project Test 2 Results

  Since the start of the COVIID-19 pandemic, the question arose, “How long would COVID-19 stay viable on a variety of surfaces?” The REALM Project (REopening Archives, Libraries, and Museums) is a scientific project created to give science based answers to this question.

On July 20, the REALM Project 2, “published the RESULTS of the second round of Battelle’s laboratory testing for COVID-19 on five commonly handled materials: braille paper pages, glossy paper pages, magazine pages, children’s board books, and archival folders.” ” Testing of additional materials is underway. The details of items being tested in sets 4 and 5, as well the results of Test Set 3, are expected by early August.”
