Meet ERIN MOORE: our Youth Services Librarian
Erin Moore was introduced as our new Youth Services Librarian at the May, 2015 SCFOL Board meeting.
With a big smile, Erin said, “I am very happy to be here, and look forward to getting to know you and the rest of the San Carlos community in the coming months.” A native San Diegan, Erin’s career with the San Diego Public Library began as a volunteer in high school Since then, she has served at almost all of the City branches in a variety of positions–from library aide to North Clairemont Branch manager. Her most recent role was at our new Central Library in the Denny Sanford Children’s Library. “It was rewarding to return to youth services, one of my passions, at a time when much anticipation and joy surrounded the San Diego library system. I am now excited for the opportunity to provide service to children and teens in a branch capacity. I believe strongly that neighborhood libraries nourish a sense of belonging in communities, and am grateful to serve in San Carlos.” You can find Erin at the library Wednesdays through Saturdays. Why not stop by the YSL desk and introduce yourself. Her hours are Wed: 11:30-5:00, Th & F: 9:30-1:00, and Sat: 9:30-3:00. Share your youth program ideas and wish list while inviting her to join you on a Mission Trails bike ride. Erin tells us, “It wasn’t until last year that I learned to ride a bicycle. Now when people say, ‘It’s just like riding a bike,’ I feel very encouraged!” We too feel very encouraged and excited to have Erin join us at the San Carlos Branch Library.
