Meet Gideon

photo 1(5)Inside the San Carlos Branch library stands Gideon watching over the mystery book section where he reigns as our oldest volunteer. In the fall of 2013, mystery book store owner Phyllis Brown retired.  Our Book Sale chair  extraordinaire, Ron McFee, answered her call for the Friends to pick up her donation of 2267 mystery books. Our acquisition of Gideon and his 25 outfits became part of the deal. He dressed as Santa in December, was in a tuxedo for the January, 2014, 40th Anniversary  GALA.  Perhaps he’ll be a March leprechaun looking to find a pot of gold at the end of our library’s rainbow, the Easter Bunny in April, or a 4th of July Uncle Sam, and he lifted our spirits as a construction worker during our extended ADA upgrade. Check him out–a great fun library find for the kids.
